M8 D-Coded Connectivity for Tight Industrial Applications
2025.04.18
CTi’s wide range of industrial cable assemblies are now available with the M8 D-coded connector. This offering features a variety of connector combinations, including 180° or 90° D-coded M8 connectors, providing versatile solutions for diverse industrial applications. Before diving into the features of M8 D-coded connector, here are some applications for them.
Connect various sensors and industrial control devices to ensure precise data transmission and equipment connection in Industry 4.0 applications.
• Robotics and Motion Control:
Used for signal transmission in robotic arms, motors, and other automation equipment.
• Industrial Ethernet & Communication:
Used in connecting devices for industrial communication protocols such as PROFINET, EtherCAT, etc., it is applied in smart factories and the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) for seamless data transmission.
M8 D coded connector is smaller than M12
The M8 connector features an 8mm circular coupling, while the M12 variant comes with a 12mm coupling. The compact design of the M8 connector makes it ideal for space-constrained environments, providing a robust solution for industrial settings where space efficiency is critical. In addition to the M8 D-coded option, our product range also includes M12 X and D-coded connectors, offering greater flexibility for your connectivity needs.
100% IP68 Waterproof Test
Our X-Coded and D-Coded Patch Cords undergo a 100% in-house IP68 waterproof test before shipping. During this test, the assembly is sealed in a compartment and pressurized with air using an airtightness tester to simulate the pressure experienced at a depth of 1 meter, as specified by the IP68 standard. If air bubbles form, the assembly fails the test; if no bubbles appear, it passes, ensuring full protection against water ingress.
Vibration & Mechanical Shock Test, and Resistance to Harsh Environments
Our X-Coded and D-Coded Patch Cords undergo rigorous testing for mechanical shock and vibration resilience, adhering to IEC 60512-6-3:2002 standards . These tests assess the connectors' ability to withstand specified severities of shock, ensuring reliable performance in harsh conditions. Additionally, these industrial-rated circular connectors can be equipped with CTi’s industrial ethernet and Profinet cables that resist oils, chemicals, UV light, and moisture, and endure extreme temperatures ranging from -40°C to 85°C. Furthermore, the flame retardancy of these cables meets UL CMX certification standards
